Tura, Oct 4 : A motorcycle rider died when his bike crashed with a car coming from the other direction in Songsak East Garo Hills on Monday morning.
According to East Garo Hills police, the accident took place between a Bajaj Pulsar Bike bearing registration no. ML-13A 2084 and a Maruti Alto car bearing registration number ML-10-4554 at Nengsamgre village near Songsak on National Highway 44E. It was raining at the time of the accident and it is suspected that speed and slippery wet conditions may have been to blame.
The biker who died has been identified as one Wilin R. Marak, son of Antoni Ch Sangma of Rongbing Boldek. His body has been taken to Williamnagar Civil Hospital.
Another accident was reported from Siju area of South Garo Hills where a 19-year-old biker is said to be in serious condition after going off the road on Sunday night.
