Tura, Nov 19: The three day Bilgaro motorsporting event got underway on Thursday, this time for the 4 wheelers.In its 6th edition,  the event has over 20 participants – 4 from Tura and 19 from outside Tura. 6 participants have come from Nagaland, one each from Assam and Delhi and 11 from Khasi Hills.On Day 1, the participants participated in Hill climb event, driving from Warisepgre to Marakgre, a stretch of 4.2kms.

On Nov 20, the Autocross event is scheduled.

The event is organized by the Tura Motor Sports Club (TMSC). It has two components- the Hill Climb and the Autocross.

The program is part of an endeavor to promote sports in Garo Hills.

Its sponsors include Government of Meghalaya, Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, Hub News among others.

Last month, the Bilgaro event for 2 wheelers was held on October 22-23.
