SHILLONG, MAY 18: BJP leader and cabinet minister AL Hek on Friday claimed that many leaders from different political parties will be joining the saffron party in the coming days.
“There are many who will join the BJP. I will not name anyone who will join the Party, I will not disclose the names now, it is too early,” Hek told reporters.
Hek said that he is ready to welcome former chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma if he wants to join BJP.
“However, I have not met nor discussed with him how I will know if he wants to join or not the party, but if he wants to join, we welcome him,” he said.
On the allegation that BJP’s support does not have any impact on the NPP, Hek said, “BJP supporting NPP will transfer into votes as we have worked very hard.”
He said anti-Christian tag against BJP is history.
“I have been telling this from the very beginning, since the inception of BJP, they are saying it is anti-Christian and anti-minority but the party keeps continuing.
I am a Christian, I joined the BJP, what’s wrong,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hek expressed confidence that the BJP will bounce back to power at the Centre.
“The feedback is good for BJP, BJP is still strong and PM will continue the hat trick in India, this is no doubt,” he added.
