Shillong, June 2: BJP leader and cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai on Thursday asked his party colleague and former minister AL Hek to refrain from making “anti-government” statements.
“I cannot understand why Hek is like this despite being a very senior leader. When he was holding the post of a minister, you will see him if there is anything also, he will keep quiet so people should understand. When he had to leave the chair of minister, he started giving all sorts of statements without my knowledge as a colleague in the government. Let people judge,” Shullai told reporters.
“That is why I appeal to him as my colleague that henceforth (he) does not give all these statements without consulting me because he is not the only BJP (MLA), I am also a BJP (MLA)… As a matured politician he should refrain from giving such statements,” he added.
His statement came a day after MPCC chief Vincent Pala has alleged that the MDA is a divided house by citing the example that “While AL Hek is criticizing the government, Sanbor Shullai is defending the government.”
