Imphal, Feb 24: Amid tight security, one person was killed while another was seriously injured in a blast inside DM University complex in Imphal last night

The bomb suspected to be IED went off inside the compound of a particular student organisation. The target seems to have been the office of the powerful All Manipur Student Union ( AMSU).

The two persons were rushed to a private hospital but one of them  succumbed to his injury, said sources.

Meanwhile there are also report of arson at the premises of a civil society organisation as well. An official statement from Manipur police is awaited.
