Key issues discussed included insurgent activities, trans-border crimes such as the smuggling of psychotropic drugs and narcotic substances, border violations, and pending infrastructural and developmental projects. Special emphasis was placed on enhancing the mechanisms for border management and exploring new avenues for collaboration.

Patel Piyush Purusottam Das highlighted that the conference aimed to strengthen the existing robust cordial relations between the two forces. The BSF and BGB have made considerable progress on several fronts over the past few years, jointly addressing border issues through meaningful dialogues at various command levels. The last such Border Co-ordination Conference was held in Chattogram, Bangladesh, in September 2023.

Das expressed confidence that the agreements and understandings reached during the conference would lead to more robust and effective border management practices. He concluded, “Our shared vision of a peaceful and secure border can only be realized through continuous dialogue and cooperation. I look forward to further strengthening our partnership in the coming months and years.”
