Shillong, Dec 24: Acting on specific input, the vigilant troops of 4th Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) based Meghalaya apprehended 3 Bangladeshi nationals along with two Indian nationals, who were working as touts near international border of East Khasi Hills District on December 23.
These three Bangladeshi nationals were attempting to cross into Bangladesh illegally.
The vigil troops of BSF intercepted and apprehended them.
On preliminary questioning, they revealed that they were residing in Siliguri and worked there as labourers. They sought assistance of the two apprehended Indian nationals to facilitate their illegal return to Bangladesh.
All the apprehended persons have been handed over to the Police Station in Pynursla after medical examination for further legal action.
In a statement, the Border Security Force said it remains unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding India’s borders and continues to combat cross-border illegal activities, including infiltration and smuggling.
