Shillong, Mar 5: The state government has budgeted ₹35 Cr to promote digital content creators and grassroot music.
“The creative industries in Meghalaya is witnessing unprecedented transformation. The state owned OTT platform, Hello Meghalaya, offers financial incentives of up to ₹5 lakh per film and ₹18,000 per month for digital content creators,” the chief minister said.
He also informed that Hello Meghalaya is providing platform for creators and dissemination in Khasi, Garo, Pnar and other local languages.
Informing that under Meghalaya Grassroot Music Programme, ₹18 Cr has already been disbursed, he said that through this programme the state will continue to promote local artists.
