Guwahati, Mar 12: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee staged a mass dharna at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati on Tuesday against centre’s notification for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on Monday evening.

The leader of Opposition alliance Debabrata Saikia, Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress President Meera Barthakur and several senior Congress leaders and party workers joined in the protest.

During the protest they burned a replica copy of the CAA, anti-CAA, anti-Narendra Modi led BJP government slogans were raised.

The Assam government has put tight security in front of the Congress Bhawan to control the protests.
