Shillong, Dec 20: The state Cabinet on Tuesday approved the amendment to the Meghalaya Minor Mineral Reclamation Fund Management Guidelines, 2022.

“It was a very simple amendment where the agencies which are eligible to implement the funds were enhanced with the addition of the Biodiversity Board,” Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters after the meeting.

He informed that the Cabinet has also approved the notification for the Meghalaya Professions Trades Callings & Employment Taxation Rules.

He said these are normal procedures once the Act is in place, and the government has to notify the rules.

The Cabinet also approved the amendment to the Meghalaya Building Amendment Byelaws, 2022.

Sangma however said, “There are long list of details and it will not be possible for me to go through all of them as they are highly technical in nature. We will prepare a small note on that.”
