Shillong, March 19: Meghalaya cabinet on Friday approved the Meghalaya Forest Service (Third Amendment) Rules, 2021, which paves way for restructure of the Meghalaya Forest Service and ensure pay parity and uniformity.

“This is being done to restructure the Meghalaya Forest Service and ensure pay parity and uniformity with Meghalaya Civil Service and Meghalaya Police Service,” said Conrad K. Sangma, addressing the press after the cabinet meeting.
The Forest Service cadre had been demanding for pay parity with MCS and MPS for several years now.
The cabinet on also approved the enhancement of Financial Powers for Technical Officers in Engineering Department under Schedule IV of the Meghalaya Delegation of Financial Power Rules, 2006.
“It will ensure speedy implementation and approvals of Govt. projects or works,” Chief Minister said.
