Tura, April 15: The 14 Stations of the Cross, which is a reenactment of the last journey of Lord Jesus Christ to his crucifixion on the cross at Mount Calvary, was undertaken by Catholic faithful in Somonpara village of Gambegre during Good Friday service on Friday.
During observance of the holy event, devotees halt to remember suffering of Christ and offer prayers at each station where Lord Jesus was made to suffer by the Romans.
The homily of Friday’s special service according to Auxiliary Bishop of Tura C J Jose was, “Jesus carries the cross before us to tell us that we are not alone in suffering. He is with us and infront of us. God murmurs to us in our little pleasures, but in our sorrow he shouts to us”.
