Shillong, Aug 28:In a daring act of theft in the middle of the night, a suspected wire thief was caught on camera cutting and stealing electrical wires in the Jaiaw area of Shillong city.

The incident, captured on video at approximately midnight on Sunday, has raised concerns about the rise of these types of incidents in the city. Many believe all these pity crimes are linked with the rise users of illicit drugs in the State.

The video was taken by alert neighbours as they noticed something suspicions.

Netizens were taken aback as the viral footage revealed an individual, face obscured by a hoodie, pulled the wire with his umbrella, deftly cutting through the wires before making a swift getaway.

As of now, no official complaint has been filed by the Dorbar Shnong of Jaiaw in connection with the incident.
