The CBI took over the case from West Agartala, Kumarghat, and Teliamura police following notifications from the Government of Tripura and the Government of India. The investigation revealed that the accused allegedly collected large sums from investors by promising high returns without proper authorization from SEBI and RBI, subsequently misappropriating the funds.

Despite being summoned, the accused had evaded investigation for years, leading to the issuance of Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) by the Special CBI Court in Agartala. The arrests on February 6, 2025, followed extensive efforts by the CBI to trace and intercept the individuals. The accused will now be presented before the competent court.
