Tura, April 18: The Placement Cell of the College of Community Science (CCS), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Tura, hosted an impactful interactive session centered on the crucial theme of “Shaping the Future Through Inclusive Development” on Thursday.

The event aimed at inspiring students to delve into the core principles of community science and understand the power of inclusivity in fostering sustainable societal progress.

The session was graced by two prominent figures from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi: Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, the Deputy Director General, and Prof. V. B. Patel, the Assistant Director General, underscoring the vital role of Community Science in driving inclusive growth, facilitating rural development, and empowering marginalized communities.

Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean of the College, emphasized the institution’s commitment to community-centric education, research, and outreach. She further highlighted the relevance of inclusive development in today’s dynamic socio-economic landscape and its alignment with the core values of Community Science.

The interactive session allowed students to directly engage with Prof. Singh and Prof. Patel, providing them with invaluable perspectives on emerging trends, evolving policy frameworks, and diverse career opportunities within the field of community science and related sectors.

Faculty members also participated in discussions, exploring avenues through which education and research in community science can further support inclusive policies and grassroots-level impact.

The College of Community Science, CAU, Tura, reaffirmed its commitment to cultivating socially conscious graduates who are well equipped to contribute meaningfully to the development and well-being of communities across the region.
