Tura, Jan 9: In preparation for Meghalaya Games 2024 and the Tura locality beautification project, the Tura Municipal Board announced the temporary closure of the Chandmari Saturday market for two consecutive Saturdays on January 13th and 20th.
In the notice that has been issued by the Municipal Board, all the vendors in the Chandmari vicinity have been urged to cooperate by refraining from bringing their products for sale on these specified dates, contributing to the enhancement of the locality’s aesthetics in preparation for the upcoming sporting event.
It must be noted that the eagerly awaited 5th edition of Meghalaya Games is poised to make history as it inaugurates in Tura on January 15th.
Providing insight, the Sports Minister revealed on Tuesday that expectations for 5th Meghalaya Games 2024 are set high, with over 3000 participants, officials inclusive, anticipated to take part in the sporting spectacle.
