Shillong, June 27: Chandmary FC has clinched a spot in the final of the Tura Football League’s First Division after a commanding 4-0 victory over Blue Max in the semi-finals played on Thursday at the Chandmari Football Turf, Tura.
In the first semi-final, Chandmary FC faced off against Blue Max, emerging victorious with a commanding 4-0 win. Chandmary FC asserted dominance from the outset.
Controlling possession and scoring goals early on. Nangrim M Sangma, Songanan Shaiza, and Chugam Ch Sangma found the net in the 6th, 18th, and 30th minutes respectively, giving Chandmary FC a 3-0 lead at halftime.
After the break, Adam A Sangma extended the lead with a spectacular free-kick goal in the 62nd minute. Despite their efforts, Blue Max struggled to convert chances and were thwarted by offsides and missed opportunities throughout the game.
With this win, Chandmary FC secured their place in the finals and also qualified for the next season’s Super Division. Moisten Marak of Blue Max and Balgrimra D Sangma of Chandmary FC received yellow cards in the 74th and 81st minutes respectively.
The second semi-final match between Balmikka GSC and Rongkhon Sporting is scheduled for June 29th, with the winner also qualifying for the Super Division next season.
Notably, during the coverage of the Tura Football League, there have been countless errors in the match reports. The errors have mostly been made by the match referees in documenting the correct timing, either of the goals scored or the cautionary yellow cards.
