TURA, May 3: A young boy who was only ten years old and returning from school tragically lost his life when a vehicle hit him while crossing the road in Williamnagar area on Tuesday afternoon.

The school boy did not notice the speeding vehicle as he tried to cross over the road.

The accident took place at Baija Abagre, in the Songsak and Williamnagar tri junction area of the state highway road.

The little boy identified as Mikasal D Sangma had travelled in another mahindra pik up truck which stopped snd parked by the road side near the tri junction for him to get down.

As he was crossing the road to go towards the others side, he was hit directly by another Mahindra pick up truck (ML07 A 9696) that was coming from Williamnagar side and moving towards Khera on the Songsak road.

Badly injured, he was rushed to Williamnagar civil hospital but sadly died from the wounds inflicted in the accident.

The driver and the vehicle involved in the accident have been detained by police and a cognizable case registered.
