Shillong, April 27: In the fifth match of the Tura Super Division 2024, Chipakkore FC won their second match after beating BOCA Juniors 2-1 on Saturday at the GBHSS Chandmary Football Ground in Tura.
Chipakkore FC opened up the scoreline with a goal from Easter Salchang Sangma in the 32nd minute, but just a couple of minutes later, BOCA equalized in the 34th minute with a goal from Rikman Marak.
Coming back for the second half, Chipakkore FC continued to dominate ball possession, creating a few chances, but none could find the back of the net. However, in the 55th minute, Akim Sangma scored the second goal, securing the match-winning goal.
The game heated up in the final minutes of normal time as three Chipakkore FC players—Chusrang Sangma, Chigrik Sangma, and Jaksram Marak—received yellow cards in the 84th minute, with another BOCA Junior player also being awarded a yellow card.
The referee blew the final whistle in the 90th minute of normal time and Chipakkore FC sits atop of the league with 6 points.
