Shillong, Jan 8: The Meghalaya State League 2024 has entered the Quarterfinal round, with the first match set to be played between two former champions, Rangdajied United FC and Shillong Lajong FC, on Thursday at Wahiajer Multipurpose Sports Complex in West JaiƱtia Hills District.
Rangdajied United FC is the defending champion, while Shillong Lajong FC was the champion of the 2019 edition.
In the second quarterfinal match, Sutnga SS & CC will face Ladthadlaboh SC on Friday at EJHD Artificial Turf, Diengshynrum, Khliehriat.
The third quarterfinal match will feature the current Shillong Premier League leader, Mawlai SC, going up against Khliehmawlieh YC at the Shillong Sports Association (SSA) Stadium, Shillong.
Meanwhile, the champions of Tura, Chipakkore FC, will take on Rymbai Shkenshynriah FC at the P.A. Sangma Stadium in Tura.
The natural football turf of P.A. Sangma Stadium has been one of Chipakkore FCās favorite venues, as their winning percentage there has been high and also giving them a strong home advantage from the football loving crowd of Tura.
The Meghalaya State League 2024, which kicked off in October 2024, was paused in November to allow players to prepare for the Santosh Trophy 2024.
