Shillong, June 29: A 40-year-old woman who was reported missing for three days was finally found on Monday but locked inside a bank in Shillong city. Police have arrested the person on charges of attempting to rob a bank but her statement is yet to be taken as she is undergoing quarantine.
The woman, identified as Isabella Marboh, was reported missing on Saturday after she didn’t return home on Friday.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said the woman was arrested on Tuesday based on FIR filed by the Branch Manager of Meghalaya Rural Bank, Bishnupur Branch on Monday.
According to him, the woman was found locked up inside the bank’s Bishnupur Branch in the city on Monday when the branch manager opened the doors but was allowed to go home. After the FIR, she was picked up by police on Tuesday.
The case has been registered with the Laban police station, the SP said adding that “the matter is under investigation”.
