Shillong, March 2: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma conducted a meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners of the State and senior Government officials to discuss the SDG ranking of Meghalaya.
In the press briefing, the Chief Minister said, “Sustainable Development Goals have been given to all States and Niti Aayog has been following up to ensure its implementation across the country”.

Speaking on measures to improve Meghalaya’s SDG ranking, the Chief Minister said, “Goals assigned State-wise can also be localized into District-wise goals. The objective of the meeting today was to involve everyone to ensure the data is available and push the DCs to take more interest in the goals to improve State’s ranking.
On the way forward, the Chief Minister commented, “We have decided to rank the districts and assign an untied fund of Rs. 50 Lakhs to each District to encourage them to implement programmes and interventions which will ultimately lead to improvement of the State’s overall ranking”.
