India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day (Gantantra Diwas) on Friday. Every year, citizens across the country come together to mark the occasion with immense grandeur and enthusiasm. The festivities are renowned for their spectacular display of military and cultural pageantry.
This significant day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950. Although India gained independence from colonial rule in 1947, it wasn’t until this momentous day in 1950 that the Constitution came into effect. This event officially marked India’s transition into a sovereign state, declaring itself a Republic.
