Tura, May 1: Seven colleges from across Tura have come together for “Synergy 2025,” a new three-day inter-college student exchange programme that was officially launched on Thursday at the Don Bosco College of Teacher Education (DBCTE) hall.
Organised by Don Bosco College Tura, this is the first initiative of its kind in the region, aimed at building collaboration, sharing knowledge, and encouraging personal growth among students. The programme will run from May 1 to 3.
The event was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Vibhor Aggarwal, who attended as the chief guest. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of such programmes in shaping the future of young minds and hoped it could be expanded across the district. He also urged students to dream big and shared lessons from his own journey.
Rev. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Principal Don Bosco College, Tura, in his welcome speech, spoke about the importance of Synergy and extended a warm welcome to the new Deputy Commissioner.
Motivational speaker Beryl B. Sangma also addressed the students, offering practical advice on facing life’s challenges, building self-confidence, improving communication skills, and planning for success.
The three-day event includes a range of exciting and educational activities such as career guidance sessions, a debate on the role of culture in modern life, open mic performances, quizzes, role-plays, and cultural showcases.
Speaking to Hub News, Dr. Madhusudhan Saha, Associate Professor at Don Bosco College, said the programme is meant to bring together students from colleges across the Garo Hills to interact, learn, and grow together.
