Boko, 24 March: Assam Pradesh Women’s Congress Committee President Meera Barthakur Goswami on Sunday inaugurated a temporary party office at Boko Rajiv Bhawan premises.
The inaugural program was attended by Nandita Das, Boko Assembly Constituency MLA, Arvinda Rabha Block Congress President, Samaria Block Congress President, Dhaneswar Bayan and 200 Congress workers.
Addressing the gathering, Meera Barthakur Goswami said that, “it is time to say goodbye to the government that has closed schools and opened liquor shops in the streets”. She alleged that the present BJP led government has closed about 11,000 schools in the state and opened liquor shops in the streets to collect revenue.
Boko MLA Nandita Das urged the voters to overthrow the BJP government and ushered her confidence on the candidature of Meera Barthakur Goswami.
Meera Barthakur questioned the authencity of government schemes like ‘Lakhpati Baideu’ and other schemes. She also alleged that the BJP has bought MLAs and MPs of other parties during elections. The generated funds through electoral bonds but she said that,” they cannot buy grassroots workers who do politics with ethics.”
While questioning about the seats claims by the Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma, Meera Barthakur Goswami said that Assam CM has no morality when he said that the opposition will win one seat in Assam while the BJP will win 13 seats. She added, “He disturbed the people by saying various lies before the elections.
She further added that, the people should vote for the candidates who have been doing politics with ethics.
