Shillong, April 28: The Congress on Wednesday decided to suspend its five legislators for three years for anti-party activities.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent H Pala said that the decision was taken based on the recommendations made by the disciplinary action committee of the AICC.

Pala said that the order will be sent to the five MLAs immediately.

The panel had recommended the suspension of the five Congress MLAs in Meghalaya for supporting the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) in the state, defying the party’s directives.
