Shillong, July 2: The state government has announced plans to establish a new MBoSE examination centre in Gambegre, West Garo Hills.
This move is expected to bring relief to hundreds of students who earlier had to travel long distances to appear for their exams.
For years, students from Gambegre and surrounding areas had to travel to distant exam centres, often facing inconvenience and hardship. The lack of a nearby exam centre was a long-standing demand of the local community.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday held meeting with officials of education department and MBoSE, and has given the green light for the identification of new exam centre.
Local residents have welcomed the news with excitement. “This is a game-changer for our children,” said a parent.
“No more long journeys, no more stress. Our kids can now focus on their studies without worrying about the exam centre.”
The education department has assured that the new centre will be identified as per necessary standards and guidelines.
The move is seen as a significant step towards making education more accessible and convenient in the region.
