Tura, August 12: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Youth Centre at Chibra Agal under Rongram block in West Garo Hills in presence of MLA Thomas A Sangma.

The Chief Minister’s Youth Centre aims to provide an open, safe and accessible platform for the youth of rural Meghalaya to design their learning journey by nurturing their ideas, showcasing their talents, and building their capacity to solve problems that they see around them.
The CMYCs will act as a space for the youth of Meghalaya to experience learning from
the lens of choice, where they get to choose what they learn.

Co-designed by Sauramandala Foundation and Project DEFY, the Chief Ministerʼs Youth Centers will be set up across different parts of the State.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that the Government has accorded thrust to youth centric programmes and policies.
He added that initiatives such as the CMYC will further the Government’s endeavour to create the right environment for positive growth and productivity of our youth.
The Chief Minister also said that 80 such centres will be set up in the State.
