Shillong, Mar 1: The Diamond Jubilee celebration of St Paul’s Seminary School was celebrated on Tuesday in the presence of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma as the chief guest at a function held at the School premises at Upper Shillong.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sangma lauded the School management for achieving this milestone. Praising the Catholic institutions, he said it is in the institutions like these as they are the tools in shaping and moulding an individual’s personality and character.

“It is really about shaping and moulding each individual…we all have our purpose in life, and God has already defined it for us, he has already planned it for us. The question is, will you be prepared for it? Will you be moulded in the right shape? Will you have the principles? Will you have the right character to be able to do what God has planned? And it is in institutes like this that this kind of moulding and shaping of your personality and character takes shape,” the CM exhorted.

“My late father was also moulded by the Church, he is somebody who has been brought up by the Catholic Fathers…he has been moulded in the way God would want him to be and that’s why today whatever we are, it is because of our father,” added the CM.

He further told the students that there are certain qualities in life which one cannot do without – discipline, humility and faith and it is in the Churches that it teaches all these characteristics.

The programme was also graced by the present of Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh, local MLA and Minister Incharge of C&RD Hamletson Dohling, Urban Affairs Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Mylliem C&RD Block, P.T Passah and other dignitaries present at the occasion.
