Tura, June 15: In view of the prevailing situation concerning Covid-19 in the state, East Garo Hills District Magistrate, Mr. Swapnil Tembe has promulgated under section 144 CrPC thereby imposing certain containment measures in the entire district of East Garo Hills with effect from 05:00 AM of 14th June 2021.
According to the order issued all schools, colleges, coaching institutions and other educational institutions to remain closed till further notice. Night Curfew from 06:00 PM to 05:00 AM all over the District will be imposed until withdrawn. Williamnagar main market and Rongjeng Market shops are only allowed from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM. Shops in other parts of district are allowed till 04:00 PM. Hotels and restaurant shall work on take away or home delivery basis. No sit in dining allowed. Home delivery of food and essential goods will be allowed till 04:00 PM. Weekend lockdown will be imposed from 06:00 PM of 18th June 2021 till 05:00 AM of 21st June 2021. Operation of weekly market is not allowed till further notice. Places of religious worship shall remain closed. Public Transport vehicle shall operate at 50% of sitting capacity. Political, Public, Social and religious gathering are not permitted including conference meeting and training. Funerals are however, permitted subject to a ceiling of 10 persons and with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner. Weddings are not permitted. Entry of tourist from outside the State shall not be permitted and all tourist spot shall remain closed. Sports activities are not permitted. In-situ construction works that do not involve movement of labour from outside the state are permitted with due intimation of the Deputy Commissioner. Central, State government offices, Banks and Post Offices are allowed to operate ensuring covid protocols. All non-essential movement is discouraged and shall be penalized through Magistrate and police.
However all health services, medical emergency case, vaccination related movement, medicines and pharmacies, essential services, Police, Civil Defence, MeCL, PHE, Municipal, PDS, FCI, goods vehicle, courier services, Print & Electronic Media, Petrol Pumps, LPG distributors are exempted from restriction.
