Aizawl, Sept 27: Mizoram on Monday reported three more deaths due to COVID-19 infection, and one of them was the elder sister of Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga. Mizoram CM’s sister Lalvuani (88) dies of COVID-19 at the Zoram Medical College (ZMC) near Aizawl.
Zoramthanga announced the sad news through his twitter handle.
“It is with deep sorrow that I announce the demise of my beloved elder sister Lalvuani (88-years) this morning at 11:30 am,” the chief minister tweeted.

Lalvuani, the third eldest of seven siblings, had been diagnosed with COVID-19 on September 22, 2021 and was shifted to ZMC, the lone dedicated COVID-19 hospital in the state. She succumbed to the infection on Monday at around 11:30 am, family sources said.
Mizoram on Monday reported 527 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the state tally to 88,693, a government bulletin said. The death toll rose to 295 as three more people succumbed to the infection while the active cases stand at 15,485. The single-day infection rate was at 31.77 percent.
