Shillong, June 1: Meghalaya has recorded 760 recoveries in the last 24 hours in a positive trend for the State as the new caseload remained below 500 for the second day as 467 cases were detected.
A bulletin from the health department on Tuesday reported that 14 people also lost their lives at the same time. This has taken the state’s death tally to 592.
However, the state has been reporting steady increase in the number of recoveries with Monday recording 977 recoveries, the highest for the state so far. On Sunday, 974 people recovered. Saturday saw 890 recoveries, Friday had 941 and 597 on Thursday.
The most recoveries were made in East Khasi Hills with 413, followed by Ri Bhoi with 162, West Garo Hills – 61, West Jaintia Hills – 29, South West Garo Hills – 23, North Garo Hills – 19, East Jaintia Hills – 14, West Khasi Hills – 10, East Garo Hills – 8, and South West Khasi Hills – 3.
Currently, the state has 6,606 active COVID cases.
The total cases in the state have reached 36,065 of which 28,867 have recovered.
