Tura, June 28: Garo Hills is staring at the possibility of another Covid wave if one goes by the latest indications with three dozen infections being recorded just in West Garo Hills district within a span of one week.
Covid cases have touched 35 as of Tuesday, June 28, with a bulk of the new infections being detected from students of NEHU Tura Campus.
As many as 19 of the new cases came from the university campus with infections being detected from three girls hostels, a boys hostel and a working women’s hostel in Tura.
Worried students have petitioned the university authorities to check the infections and provide adequate safety measures by way of hand sanitization, wearing face masks and social distancing.
