From GHADC MDCs, MLAs, Ministers and myself, we have all reached out to the voters to reinforce the fact that Rajabala is crucial for us. I myself have stayed put for so many days,” said Conrad Sangma.

He asked the people of Rajabala to do a comparison between the previous Congress government of Mukul Sangma and the NPP led coalition headed by Conrad Sangma.

“Before our government came into existence, Mukul Sangma was in power for eight long years. They used threats and there were daily cases of crime including kidnappings. But ever since we took power, there has been peace for over three years. The reason is very simple- If you work people will vote for you. Mukul Sangma needs to learn the lesson,” said the chief minister.

The chief minister is confident that the results on November 2nd will be a sweeping victory for the NPP.

“I am confident we will win with the highest margin because, unlike our opponents, we cast no distinction on people. For us muslims, hindus, tribals are equal in our eyes and we will march together with them,” said the chief minister.

He said that the Congress, particularly under Mukul Sangma, needs to learn that the public never forgives a politician or a party that thinks for himself.

“The congress never had any thought for the people which is why they were dumped in the last state elections. For us, who were just 2 MLAs in the state, today we are in government in Meghalaya and Manipur and even extended our base to Assam, Nagaland, Tripura and other states,” a proud chief minister said.

At Bhaitbari , Ex-MDC Sofiur Rahman, NCP President Saleng Sangma spoke at the election meeting and slammed the Congress party as a failure.

The NCP president of the state and Gambegre MLA Saleng A Sangma questioned the commitment of the previous Mukul Sangma government.

“Mukul Sangma is blaming the NPP government which is only three years old, whereas, he was chief minister for 8 long years and it was in his tenure that the Rajabala condition of the roads was taken up. Why didn’t he take action against the contractor and firm? This government is prepared to black list the contractor and firm that got the road project but did not undertake the work,” warned Saleng Sangma.

The crowd was enthralled by local singers, and clearly the festive spirit of election could be witnessed in the meeting as supporters chanted NPP Zindabad slogans.

NPP candidate expressed his gratitude to NPP MLAs and MDCs who campaigned for his continuously in both hills and plains to garner support for NPP.Saleh said his victory will be Conrad Sangma’s victory and people should show their gratitude with a thunderous majority to the NPP.
