Cyclone Remal Impact: Kolkata Airport to Suspend Flight Operations for 21 Hours

Kolkata, May 25: In the wake of the Severe Cyclon Remal, which is expected to hit the land on May 26, the Kolkata Airport announced the cancellation of flight operations for 21 hours.

On Saturday, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI) authorities announced the suspension of all flight operations starting from 1200 IST on May 26 to 0900 IST on May 27, followed by the advisory from IMD.

According to the latest data from IMD, Cyclone Remal has developed into a cyclonic storm over the Northwest and adjoining Northeast and east-central Bay of Bengal.

The IMD has predicted that the Remal will intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm by May 26 and hit the coastal areas between Sagar Island and Khepupara.
