Dalu United lift champions’ trophy of Tura Football League 2024’s Second Division

Tura, July 17: The final of the Second Division of the Tura Football League 2024 concluded on Tuesday at the Chandmary Football Turf in Tura with Dalu United emerging victorious against Doreng Sporting with a 2-0 scoreline.

Dalu United took the lead early on, with Nolbirth R Marak opening the scoring in the 15th minute of the first half. Despite creating several opportunities, Doreng Sporting struggled to convert their chances, ending the first half 1-0 in favor of Dalu United.

Coming from break, Dalu United dominated ball possession, cutting short Doreng Sporting’s advances. However, as the match moved forward, the domination became static and both the teams were met with a dry spell of missed chances and empty passes.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 76th minute when Tangrak Ch Sangma scored, extending Dalu United’s lead. Doreng Sporting continued to struggle with their finishing, unable to find the back of the net.

At the final whistle, Dalu United secured the victory with a 2-0 scoreline.

Clibirth D Sangma and Chengrak Ch Sangma of Dalu United received the cautionary yellow card in the 67th minute and 78th minute, respectively. From the Doreng Sporting team, Taiaba Sangma received the cautionary yellow card in the 61st minute. However, Salman Sangma was shown the red card and sent off the field as he received two yellow cards in the 61st and 72nd minute, respectively.

Dalu United were awarded the champion’s trophy along with the prize money of Rs. 70,000, while Doreng Sporting received the runner’s up trophy along with the prize money of Rs. 50,000.

Individual awards were also distributed to players for their outstanding performances:
Player of the Final – Nolbirth R Marak of Dalu United,
Best Goalkeeper – Nengkam S Sangma of Dalu United,
Best Defender – Wanchrang Ch Sangma of Dalu United,
Best Midfielder – Tangbo Sangma of Doreng Sporting,
Best Forward – Nikku Ch Marak of Doreng Sporting,
Top Scorer award – Nikku Ch Marak of Doreng Sporting (13 goals).

Player of the final received a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 1500, whereas the rest of the individual awardees received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 2,000 each.
