Shillong , Sept 2: The All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA) on Friday urged the state government to provide financial assistance and funding for the setting-up of a dance institute in the state.
Speaking to media, president of AMDA Kitbok Thabah said that due to lack of funding and financial assistance from the government many aspiring youths are not getting platform to participate in various national and international level dance competitions.
Thabah also said that the association from time to time had sought for assistance from the government and had also met the Chief Minister to seek assistance in order to be able to promote and encourage the youths of the state to showcase their talents.
“From the association, we urged upon the state government to provide financial assistance to the association for construction of a Dance Institute to train and encourage the youths of the state to compete in various national and international competitions”, he said.
