Tura, Oct 30: Veteran Congress leader and Meghalaya Congress Working President and former minister Deborah C Marak will be leading the charge to strengthen the party in Garo Hills together with state MPCC president Vincent Pala.
Deborah met with new Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Khagre in New Delhi on Saturday where they discussed strengthening of the party in Meghalaya ahead of the elections.
The top leaders of the party discussed strategies and preparations for the 2023 assembly elections with Khagre where they will face the ruling NPP as its main rival.
“We had a long and comprehensive discussion on ways to strengthen the party and we believe we will come on top as the people of the state, including Garo Hills, remains in support of the Congress,” said Deborah Marak.
