Shillong, Aug 19: For the second time Jirang’s NPP MLA Sosthones Sohtun along with Congress MDC Charles Marngar and local heads met with Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday to demand for a Civil Sub Division so that there can be a close relation between the administration and the people.
Sohtun mentioned that as of now many areas in his constituency don’t have road connectivity and still lack development.
However, Sohtun stated that since the time of this government they have a college which will likely be inaugurated next year.
He added that there has been no assurance but it looks positive since the government is following the process.
Sohtun added that almost 80% is bordering with Assam, and fortunately they live peacefully. “Only in some parts there are cases of differences. Concerning border areas I look forward to both the government to solve it as soon as possible so that people will get the benefits and live peacefully,” said Sohtun.
