Shillong, May 17: The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Jaintia Hills District, has alerted the public he stated about the deteriorating condition of the bridge along NH-6 at Pyrtakuna village under Lumshnong C&RD Block. Reports indicate that the bridge has iron rods protruding from damaged sections, posing a significant danger to commuters.
To ensure the safety of the public and vehicles, the Project Director of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in Meghalaya, Shillong, has been directed to take immediate restorative measures due to the critical importance of the bridge.
Given these circumstances, the Deputy Commissioner and DDMA Chairman have advised the public, commuters, and vehicles to take necessary precautions and adhere to traffic regulations while crossing the bridge to avoid any accidents until the repair works are completed by the concerned authorities.
