Shillong, May 3: Cabinet Minister and Local MLA, Hamletson Dohling, on Tuesday inspected the tarmac road at 5th Mile village, Upper Shillong.
It may be mentioned that the 820 metre road is the rehabilitation and resurfacing by black topping of the road including potholes, construction and repair of V – shaped drain, square drain and Cross drain, at an amount of Rs. 30 lakh.

After receiving the complaints and grievances of the residents and specially the village elders regarding the tattered condition of the road, it is truly deserving for the village to get an improved road, Dohling said. He hoped that the new and improved road will be a blessing to the residents of the village and will go a long way in the overall development of the village.


During the day, the MLA also inspected the water filter tank of 5th Mile village which was recently constructed by acquiring land from the agriculture department. He expressed hope that the tank will be a big boon as it will ensure safe and proper drinking water for the residents of the village.
