Delhi, Feb 10: The DoNER Ministry has accorded administrative and financial sanction for central financial assistance of Rs. 126.94 crore under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme for the construction of IT Park at Tura in West Garo Hills.
The communication from the ministry said that the work has to commence within six months. The State government has to submit an abstract of cost and vetting report by IIT with the proper name of the project within seven days of issue of the sanction dated 10.02.2024.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has been propagating the establishment of IT Parks across the State. In 2022, the first IT Park was inaugurated in Shillong.
“We are keen that Meghalaya should become one of the key IT hubs”, said Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, while speaking to Hub News.
“We have the manpower and the IT sector will open opportunities for our youth. As a government, we are ensuring overall infrastructure is developed for the growth of the IT sector in the State,” he added.
Taking to X, he lauded the DoNER Ministry and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy.
