Shillong, Dec 19: To curb the feeling of racial differences, the Dorbar Shnong Jaïaw Pyllun on December 18 organised an awareness programme on ‘the need of Peaceful co-existence’ at Jaïaw pdeng, Shillong.

Rev.WC Khongwir, Headmen of Jaïaw Langsning, Jaiaw Pdeng, Jaïaw Upper Lansonalane and Jaïaw Laitdom were amongst the key speakers during the awareness programme.

Speaking at the programme, the Headmen of Jaïaw pyllun stressed on the need for peaceful coexistence in Jaïaw. “People from all around come to Jaïaw…be it for their medical needs at the Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, then students from different areas visit the locality for educational purposes.. therefore, we do need to understand the need for coexistence,” he said.

He also urged the youth of Jaïaw pyllon to come forward and join hands with the local institution to address this issue.
