Shillong, May 28:Â In a significant drug bust, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of East Jaintia Hills (EJH) in collaboration with Lumshnong Police Station intercepted a night super bus bearing registration number AS 01 FC 8299 at 01:30 AM on Tuesday.
During the search, 42 soap boxes containing heroin were recovered from a passenger identified as Abdul Kuddus Laskar, son of Nur Islam Laskar, from Cachar, Assam.
Preliminary tests confirmed the substance as heroin, with a total net weight of 458 grams. The contraband and a mobile phone have been seized, and a criminal case under the NDPS Act will be filed against the inter-state trafficker, Abdul Kuddus Laskar. The investigation of the case is underway.
