Tura Mar 9: The Durama Motor Sports and Adventure Club organized a cleaning drive at Sella Wari, Ganol River on Saturday in an effort to combat pollution and raise awareness.
The river, is a lifeline for Tura and nearby villages. The picnickers have littered the waterway with pastic bottles, chip packets, and beer and whiskey bottles.
To cleaning drive was an effort to spread awareness about environmental responsibility. The club members descended upon the river banks and removed all the plastic waste and bottles.
One of the members said that, “the cleaning drive is a wake-up call all and specially those who operate tea stalls along its banks. The Durama Motor Sports and Adventure Club urged everyone to refrain from throwing plastic waste into the water source.
