Shillong, May 13: The Meghalaya government on Thursday took stock of the availability of oxygen and has informed the public to avoid panicking since it is currently manageable.
Briefing the media Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that they will immediately install 6 units of oxygen generator in Shillong Civil Hospital, which will be made functional latest by next week.
Tynsong also informed that with the commissioning of this generator, the State will generate sufficient oxygen.
“Once this 6 units is installed, we will be able to cut down the requirements of cylinder and surplus will be distributed across the state,” he added.
As for the district headquarters like Tura, Jowai and Nongpoh, the oxygen generator is already on the way and hopefully in a weeks time these oxygen generator will reach the state.
“Once it reaches we will immediately install them. The commissioning of these will be made functional by first week of June,” said Tynsong.
