Shillong, July 24: In a bid to enhance road safety and prevent crimes, East Khasi Hills District Police has launched a drive to remove tinted films from vehicles and till date tinted glasses of 109 vehicles have been removed and compounded as per law.
District police chief Sylvester Nongtnger, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said that as per the Motor Vehicles Act and in compliance of the Supreme Court Order, tinted glass is prohibited, and violators will face penalties.
In this regard, he urged vehicle owners to comply with the regulations and remove tinted glass to avoid penalties. He further reiterated that East Khasi Hills District Police is committed to ensuring road safety and preventing crimes.
