Shillong, Feb 3: The District Administration of East Khasi Hills on Saturday conducted a mass cleaning drive in and around the rivers and localities across Shillong city as part of the river rejuvenation program for Umkhrah and Umshyrpi rivers.

The mass cleaning drive is also in preparation for the upcoming International Water Conclave scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th February, 2024 in Shillong.

The cleaning drive saw participation from NCC cadets, various village Dorbars, women SHGs, line departments such as Water Resources, SMB, Forests & Environment Department, PHE, PWD, and others.

The cleaning drive was carried in areas including Polo, Lawmali, Wahingdoh Bridge, Mawprem and others nearby areas.
