Shillong, Jan 18: Chief electoral officer (CEO) FR Kharkongor on Wednesday said a close watch will be kept on trouble mongers and history-sheeters ahead of the assembly polls, which will be held on February 27.

Kharkongor told reporters that a list of the trouble mongers have already been compiled but he is not allowed to share as it is a matter of confidentiality.

“These trouble mongers and history-sheeters and known miscreants have already been identified right at the micro level. They will be bound under section 107, if they misbehave or cause any tension among the electorate,” he said.

Stating that the exercise is on and ongoing, the CEO said a close watch will be kept on all these elements.
