The Dorbar Pyllun (General Body) of Erpakon village has unanimously decided to evict all non-tribals residing or working within the jurisdiction of Erpakon Village. This decision followed with the brutal murder of 38-year-old Kyrmen Lyngdoh Nonglait, a local, by a non-tribal labourer employed at the RN Sharma Hotel on May 11. The Dorbar Pyllun of Erpakon has given a month’s time for all non-tribals to vacate the village. The Dorbar also demanded that all hotels and Dhaba’s operating within the Shnong jurisdiction should employ only residents.
